Cloudland Canyon Hike

Atlanta's position just south of the Appalachian Mountains makes it the perfect city for adventurous day trips. Join AMIS Atlanta for a summer day filled with hiking, nature, and new friendships at Cloudland Canyon State Park! Located in North Georgia just south of Chattanooga, this park has it all: incredible views, stunning waterfalls, and dramatic canyon environments. We will hike a series of trails that will take us by the park's famous overlook viewing area and some of its iconic waterfalls: 3-4 miles of hiking in total. After hiking, we'll take time to eat a packed lunch together as a group before heading back to Atlanta.

Registrations cost $5. This will reserve your spot on the hiking trip and will allow us to compensate the volunteer drivers for gas costs.

Carpooling options will be offered as available for students who need a ride to and from the park. You can indicate on the registration form if you will need a ride, and we will assign you to a vehicle the week of the hike if we have enough carpool drivers. If you would like to volunteer to drive students to and from the park, please indicate so in the registration form.

All those who participate in this event must review and agree to AMIS's Assumption of Risk Policy.  In addition, all volunteer drivers must sign our waiver acknowledging your agreement with this policy.  All volunteer drivers must have a current and valid registration and updated auto insurance policy in order to drive students. Also, volunteer drivers who have NOT participated in an AMIS event or program previously must submit to a background check before transporting students.
