A Message from our Executive Director

Camille Kesler

Dear AMIS Friends,

Woodrow Wilson, the 28th president of the United States, was once quoted as saying
“Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.” I could not agree more. As
an 18-year AMIS volunteer and now AMIS Executive Director, I have seen up close the positive
outcomes that can occur when people feel they have a friend or champion in their lives. In fact,
it is through valuable connections and friendships such as those gained through AMIS that
advocacy, mutual respect and encouragement can have a meaningful and lasting impact on
Atlanta’s international student population and the volunteers that befriend them.

If you are perusing our website, you likely count among the many wonderful AMIS volunteers that
befriend international students, or as a valued donor that supports our work. And, I have two
words for you: THANK YOU. Thank you for partnering with us to become world citizens. Thank
you for seeing the beauty in befriending those who may be different from you. Thank you for
contributing funds to AMIS so that we can continue to serve as a conduit for these special
connections. And, if you have not previously supported us through volunteering and/or donations,

we invite you to do so!

We hope you’ll review our 2024-2025 Annual Report at www.amisatlanta.org/annualreport where

you’ll be able to view our favorite pictures, read about our accomplishments, and celebrate with us

the impactful work that AMIS is doing among the international student and scholar community in

metro Atlanta. But, while there is much to celebrate, we also have some inherent challenges in

funding our operations during these uncertain geopolitical times.

So, I hope very much that you will consider making a donation to support AMIS’s work. You can
give at https://secure.givelively.org/donate/amis as a one-time gift or join our Circle of Friends
monthly giving program. You can also sponsor any of our annual or monthly events to help us
organize a fun and exciting programs for our international students and scholars. However you

choose to support us, please know we appreciate you and couldn’t do this without
you. We are so very grateful for the many ways you join us in our mission of promoting cultural
and global understanding through friendship and hospitality with international students and
scholars in greater Atlanta.

Cementing the world together through friendship,

Camille Kesler
Executive Director
